Postpartum Therapy in Irvine, CA | Perinatal Mental Health Support
Pregnancy and the postpartum period bring enormous emotional and physical changes. While many parents expect to feel joyful, it is very common to feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unlike yourself.
If you are struggling during pregnancy or after your baby is born, you are not alone. Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders affect about 1 in 5 mothers, and support can make a meaningful difference.
With the right support, many women begin to feel more grounded, supported, and confident in themselves during this transition.
As a therapist trained in perinatal mental health (PMH-C), I specialize in helping women navigate the emotional challenges of pregnancy, postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, and early parenthood.
I offer in-person therapy in Irvine, California, as well as virtual sessions for clients across California and Arizona.
You Might Be Here Because…
Many mothers reach out because they are experiencing emotional changes they did not expect after pregnancy or childbirth.
You might be here because:
- you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or constantly on edge
- you are experiencing postpartum depression or persistent sadness
- you have intrusive or racing thoughts
- you feel disconnected from yourself or your baby
- you feel guilt, self-doubt, or pressure to be a “perfect” parent
- you had a difficult pregnancy, birth, or NICU experience
These experiences are common and treatable, and seeking support is a strong and important step.
Therapy for Postpartum Depression and Anxiety
Postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety can affect mood, sleep, energy, and your sense of connection to yourself and others.
Some mothers describe feeling numb or emotionally distant. Others feel constantly on edge or consumed by worry.
In therapy, we work together to understand what you are experiencing and develop practical strategies that help you feel more supported and balanced in your daily life.
My approach uses evidence-based therapies including CBT and ACT to help you manage overwhelming thoughts, reduce self-criticism, and build coping strategies that support your well-being.
Support for Birth Trauma and Difficult Pregnancy Experiences
Some parents carry distress related to fertility struggles, pregnancy complications, traumatic birth experiences, or NICU stays.
These experiences can leave lasting emotional stress responses. When appropriate, I may integrate EMDR-informed therapy to help reduce the intensity of difficult memories and support emotional healing.
